“Scalp Oiling”: Just an Instagram Trend?
Are you interested in hair care and hair growth? Then you have definitely not been able to ignore the current “scalp oiling” trend. Often in the form of short videos and reels in which the scalp is literally soaked in oil. The approach of stimulating hair growth directly at the roots is nothing new. Think, for example, of caffeine shampoos, but also scalp tonics, which are relatively widespread.
But what does scalp oiling have to do with hair growth?
The scalp is often neglected in hair care. For example, it is generally recommended to only apply conditioner and care masks to the lengths of the hair to prevent it from becoming too heavy and "hanging". This, coupled with the regular use of styling products that accumulate around the hairline, can quickly lead to scalp problems. These problems can take the form of redness and irritation, an excessively oily scalp or, in extreme cases, hair loss. Not really that surprising, is it?
"The scalp is often neglected in hair care! A healthy scalp is the essential basis for healthy hair growth."
Regular scalp oiling with the right oil supports natural hair growth in three ways:
- Nourishing ingredients: the right oils soothe an irritated scalp, have anti-microbial and anti-fungal effects, and have regulating properties. Look for example at lavender oil, tea tree oil, ylang-ylang oil or argan oil. More than one of our testers reported less redness and itching after regular use of Höhenmeter over a few weeks
- Stimulating ingredients: carefully selected oils stimulate the hair roots and encourage natural hair growth at the root. Look at rosemary oil or coffee bean oil
- Regular head massage: thanks to regular head massage, blood circulation in the scalp is stimulated. This naturally also has a stimulating effect and supports optimal blood circulation in the scalp. It is therefore recommended to massage the oil well into the scalp for 3-5 minutes
"It is important when choosing your scalp oil: choose a moisturizing, so-called "non-drying" oil. This will ensure that your scalp is penetrated for a long time and the ingredients of the oil can be optimally absorbed."
Hair growth is still a natural process of the body. However, it is possible to support natural hair growth - and the scalp - as best as possible and thus prevent excessive hair loss and stimulate hair growth. If you want to do this, you should definitely use scalp oiling. The scalp does not even have to be soaked in oil for this ;-)
